Fear of Falling

Claire:- Vocals

Since the age of 6 Claire has dreamed of being in a band or on the stage.  Her parents even had coloured spot lamps put up in their sun lounge to accommodate the young 'uns dreams and make her feel like she was indeed on stage! Things haven't changed much but now the gal just loves to sing. Told many a time that she couldn't sing and that she was "flat" (vocally speaking of course!) she has gone on to defy school and college critics by just singing anyway! She loves singing with Fear of Falling because the band are a great laugh and don't take themselves too seriously. They just want to play great music and have fun.
Equipment - obnoxious mic stand that never does what it is supposed to! Lungs, tonsils and very occasionally even the vocal chords!

Paul:- Keyboards + Backing Vocals

Been trying to play keyboards since the age of 18 months HaHa.  Didn't start learning until left school at 16 and been in and out of bands since the age of 18. Played in various pub and club bands. Gear info- Korg X3 keyboard and  Korg M50 keyboard (Do you think I like Korg?) and Peavey KB300 amp which is a beast amongst other words when carrying it up 2 flights of stairs.

Steve:- Bass + Backing Vocals

General blog:- Been playing guitar badly since the age of 10. Heroes/influences Dave Gilmour/Andy Latimer/Steve Rothery/Flea. Started playing bass 5 years ago gigging regularly with The Start playing bass & acoustic guitar around the NE pub/club circuit. Tech stuff - Warwick Corvette active bass & Ashdown 300w Amp & cabs. Boss ME-50B multi fx. Ovation acoustic.

John:- Guitar + Backing Vocals

John: been playing (badly) for more years than he cares to remember. Spent the majority of his formative guitarist years stuck on the three chords of Status Quo, but more recently been trying a few extras including some dodgy sounding diminished. In his time he's been through more guitars than is good for him, because each new one has been "just the dogs!" and "much better than the others!" Has a tendency to be a bit clumsy and most of his kit bears the scars from occasions of guitarist's oblivion to doors, walls, dogs, kids, etc. etc.. Influences by loads of guitarists including Michael Schenker, Billy Duffy, Angus Young, Francis Rossi, Steve Rothery, and the less well known Ronnie Dornan, a guy who told him he'd never get anywhere playing all that widdly-widdly nonsense. Regrets wasting so much money on cups of coffee or tea that have gone cold whilst in the aforementioned guitarist oblivion

The present kit includes 2005 Gibson Les Paul Limited Edition Sante Fe Sunrise; 2006 PRS Custom 24 Dark Cherry; 2005 Ibanez S2075 FW; 1995 Fender Strat Plus, 1992 Mexican Fender Tele, with red lace sensor bridge pick up (It's a Francis Rossi thing!); 1993 Yamaha APX6 Acoustic; and a Takamine EAN45CX, with the assistance of: Marshall TSL602 combo,  Marshall 1922 2x12 cab (bought it as a functional amp stand!), and a variable combination of Boss ME6 effects unit, DOD Stereo Chorus, Boss TU2 tuner, Sennheiser freePORT wireless system, and a Marshall Valvestate 8080 as back up

Kevin:- Drums + Backing Vocals

Been playing drums for around 3 years now after being taught  by Keith Cad, the best drummer in the North East ! Originally formed the 1st incarnation of this band which split almost 2 years ago. Now with new members Claire, Steve and Paul as well as John, the only other original member of  FOF. Looking forward to working across the region with our wide ranging repertoire of pop music. Currently using a Premier Artist Maple kit with Zildjian, Paiste and sabian cymbals.
